Dead Neanderthals – Prime cassettes out now

dn1Grindjazz? Yeah, grindjazz. Two on sax and one on drums recorded ‘Prime’ live in Rijswijk (NL) last year. Vinyl has sold out, CD is close to and now there’s a cassette tape via us. Limited to 50 copies in total, this is probably the most experimental band we’ve ever put out.

Dead Neanderthals played our first ever show and is now touring the world, where grindfans unite at their underground shows. They were even picked up by Pitchfork a while back and that’s not bad for two to three guys from the Dutch east. ‘Prime’ gets us excited and so should you be.

We’re delighted to announce the release of SFG016: Dead Neanderthals one track record ‘Prime’ on tape format. The heavy jazz duo of drummer René Aquarius and Otto Kokke on saxophone is one of our favourite Dutch acts, but they recorded this 40 minute juggernaut with English saxophonist Colin Webster The extra saxophone gives this record even more body and we call this intense record a heavy beast, but you can also label it as an insane and destructive powertrip.

‘Prime’ will be released on Friday the 18th of September as a two-sided white tape in a regular case and is limited to 50 copies. We’re very proud to be part of this, since Dead Neanderthals are one of the hardest working bands hailing from The Netherlands. We’ll be carrying copies of ‘Prime’ at our Incubate event on the releaseday (Dudok), but we’ll try our best to bring a few copies to Dead Neanderthals’ event on the day before (Midi).

For now you can stream ‘Prime’ here: and we’ll hope to see you at #incu15!
