Track of the Week: Thrice – Black Honey

Almost a month ago I talked about Thrice’s farewell tour and how O’Brother looked ready for Thrice’s heritage. Yeah, but now Dustin Kensrue and company are back with a new record, ‘To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere’ (which will be released at the end of this week actually) and my, my, my… I wasn’t very siked about their first released track of said record, Blood on the Sand. I thought it was rather dull.

And then they released Black Honey and that sounds like the Thrice we all need: urgent. From those softly, almost false sounding tone and the following riff in the intro and Kensrue’s rich vocal spectrum to the almost agressive choruses and the building percusion later in the track. I’m also quite fond of the guitarparts in the last minute of the track, hitting in just after the three-minute mark in the official video.
